Pricing and fees
Bookora sells a subscription and nothing on top of it: no commission, no paid add-ons. Premium costs $9.99 a month, $23.99 for three months (≈ $8 a month) or $59.99 a year (≈ $5 a month) and includes two seats, for you and a colleague. A team of 5 pays $39.99 a month for a pack, a team of 10 pays $69.99, a team of 20 pays $119.99. There is no commission on bookings or on clients. Without a subscription, Bookora is a calendar with a client base for one person: you can keep appointments by hand, but online booking, automatic reminders, Google Calendar and team seats open only in Premium.
Booksy: $29.99 a month plus tax for the first professional and $20 a month for each additional one; no free plan, 14-day trial. Online payments cost 2.69% + $0.30 per transaction. The Boost feature brings clients from the marketplace for 30% of their first visit ($10 to $100); you can leave it off, and then there is no fee.
A salon of five pays Booksy $109.99 a month and Bookora $39.99. For one professional the difference is threefold, and sixfold with Bookora billed yearly.
These are US prices. In the UK Booksy costs £40 plus £5 per staff member; Bookora is sold in local currency in every country through the App Store and Google Play.
Online booking
In Bookora the booking page is a Premium feature. A client gets your link on WhatsApp or from your Instagram bio, picks a service, a day and a time, and leaves a name and a phone number. No app, no account. The request lands in your calendar and you accept or decline it. You set how far ahead booking is open (1 to 90 days), how much notice you need before a visit, the slot step (15 to 180 minutes), and a "next to existing appointments" mode that packs the day tightly, with no empty hours between clients. The client sees a link to your cancellation policy before confirming.
At Booksy online booking is part of the subscription, and its main difference is the marketplace: clients find the salon in the Booksy app and book from there. That works if you are ready to share a first visit with Boost and to compete with neighbouring salons in one storefront. Through your own link in Bookora a client books with you alone.
What Bookora lacks: automatic confirmation of requests (you confirm each one), branding of the booking page, client-side rescheduling and deposits.
Client reminders
On any plan Bookora drafts the message and opens WhatsApp with the text and the client's number: one tap, and you pay nothing for the message. On Premium, email and Telegram reminders go out by themselves: when an appointment is created, changed or cancelled, and 24 hours before the visit. This works in any country with Telegram and email and does not depend on local carriers.
Booksy sends clients SMS or push notifications 24 hours before, free; WhatsApp reminders are not in Booksy's help center as of the date checked. If your clients live in SMS, that is a plus for Booksy; if in Telegram and WhatsApp, a plus for Bookora.
Team
In Bookora a team is seats. The owner invites staff with a one-time code or creates accounts for them; each has their own calendar, clients, services and booking link. On the shared booking page the client picks a specialist and lands in that person's calendar. The owner sees each team member's schedule and stats, and sets booking rules, reminder channels and message templates once for everyone.
Booksy's team is built like a salon with a receptionist: shifts, staff commission calculation and five permission levels. Some of it is set up only in the web version or on a tablet. If you have commission-based pay and a front desk, Booksy covers more; if each professional runs their own calendar, Bookora is simpler.
Analytics and consumables
Bookora counts revenue, expected revenue from upcoming appointments, expenses, your most frequent clients and services, the share of repeat visits and calendar occupancy, on the phone and at no extra charge. Consumables are tracked in millilitres, grams and units and tied to services with a usage rate; after each appointment the app calculates the write-off, you confirm the numbers and see a low-stock threshold. Personal prices are included too: give a client a percentage discount or remember their price for a service.
Booksy tracks stock, but only in the web version and on a tablet, and has no personal prices for clients: only manual discounts at checkout and promotions for everyone.
Languages and Google Calendar
Bookora's interface comes in 9 languages: English, German, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Russian, Arabic, Japanese and Chinese, switchable right in the settings. Currency, 12- or 24-hour time and the first day of the week are yours to set. A client in another country sees your free slots in their own time zone, and on the confirmation in yours too, so an online consultant never has to convert hours. Google Calendar syncs both ways: personal events block time in Bookora, and appointments, tasks and breaks go to Google.
Booksy's interface has no Russian, Arabic or Japanese. Booksy has no Google Calendar sync, only a one-time import of appointments from an .ics file.
When Booksy is the better pick
Bookora does not win on every criterion. There are jobs Booksy is better suited to:
You want new clients from the marketplace and are willing to give up 30% of their first visit.
You need deposits and online payment for bookings.
The salon has a receptionist, a tablet at the front desk and a till.
You need shifts, staff commission calculation and permission levels.
Clients expect SMS reminders rather than Telegram messages or email.
How to move from Booksy to Bookora
The move takes one evening and the client base is not lost.
Export clients from Booksy
In the Booksy web version open the client list and save it as CSV. If there is no export on your plan, ask Booksy support for the file.
Import the base into Bookora
Download Bookora from the App Store or Google Play and import clients from the CSV file or from your phone contacts. Names and phone numbers come in from the file; from then on you keep appointments in Bookora.
Set up your services
Name, price, duration, category and colour. Mark which services are open for online booking and add your address; it fills into every new appointment by itself.
Turn on Premium and set up the booking page
Booking window, minimum notice, slot step, the "next to existing appointments" mode and a link to your cancellation policy. For a team, invite staff with a one-time code.
Replace the link
Put the Bookora link in your Instagram bio and send it to regulars on WhatsApp. You can keep the Booksy profile until the end of the paid period so that marketplace clients have time to switch to the new link.
